Kalapaki Beach is one of Kauai's most popular beaches. It has a nice surf break, and is usually an ideal place for swimming, snorkeling and kayaking. It's located in a protected harbor, making it an ideal place to learn how to surf.

Kalapaki Beach has a few dining options in the immediate area, the most famous of them being Duke's Kauai - On the Sand at the Kauai Marriott. Duke's Kauai is named after the legendary "Father of International Surfing": Hawaii's own, Duke Paoa Kahanamoku.
